I have recently been travelling and was out of town for 4 weeks visiting family in Canada. Once I returned home and got settled back in to routine my oven decided that it doesn't love me anymore. We have been going back and forth about repairing it or purchasing a new one, but haven't done either yet. If that wasn't terrible enough, in a crazy thunderstorm that same weekend our propane grill was blown off the deck and also broken. Because of all this my inspiration in the kitchen has sort of taken a back seat. It's caused my healthier eating habits to slide because I just don't want to deal with the situation and end up cooking something quick and not as healthy. I absolutely love to cook, I love being the kitchen, meal planning, and coming up with new recipes to share.
It's time I suck it up and figure out how to make the best out of the situation. My oven is still broke but I decided that I just needed to get back in the kitchen. I need to come up with recipes that will work for our current situation and get back to what I love. I also needed to get back on the healthier eating train, but that's a story for another time. Plus I'm sick of eating hot dogs and boxed mac and cheese. Don't judge me! Ha Ha. I know we all fall into our ruts with cooking healthy home-cooked meals, especially when life happens and we get busy.
So, yesterday I sat down made my weekly meal plan and grocery list. All of the recipes I plan to make will be either stove top or crock pot meals. So I hope you all are ready to see some new recipes up on the blog this week. Since it's fall, it's not really in Georgia it was 95°F today, but I'm in the mood for fall things and fall recipes. Doesn't something about fall make you want to bust out the crock pot. The crock pot makes cooking soups, stews, pot roasts, and chili's so incredibly convenient. Recipes like that make me think of fall. So get ready ladies because I'm back in the kitchen and finally back to blogging. Stay tuned!
