Maple Pancake Syrup

  1. 3 cups granulated sugar

  2. 1 1/2 cups water

  3. 3 Tbs molasses

  4. 1 tsp vanilla

  5. 1 Tbs butter

  6. 1 tsp maple extract

  7. 1 Tbs vodka (optional)

Combine sugar, water, molasses, vanilla, butter and maple extract in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool and store in air tight container in the fridge. Makes about 3 cups of syrup

*Add 1Tbs of vodka once cooled to help prolong the life of the syrup and stop bacteria growth.

*Add different extracts for different flavours (example: Almond, Strawberry, Banana, etc.)
